Recipient of a British Council Gender Ecologies Grant in 2023, Apnakam was the lead partner in a project teaching permaculture to landless and small-holding women farmers in Sindh. Over the course of a year, fifteen women farmers learned how to apply permaculture to develop their kitchen gardens for greater climate resilience and nutritional benefit to their families. Unschooled in the traditional sense, they also used creativity and local expression to facilitate learning through embroidery and storytelling.
